||I started my adult life as an art teacher which is still the best and probably most rewarding job I've ever had. I worked mostly with elementary and middle school students, so my day was really a lot like creative play. I got my start in murals in Ashland WI doing a series of community murals honoring the town's history. My first piece was 40 ft high completed in 1998. Since then I have done over 50 murals throughout the Midwest (and three in a resort outside Belmopan, Belize).
I am a full time muralist living in Northern Wisconsin. Most of my work has been in the community mural/ historical mural genre. By necessity I have learned to be a very skilled portrait artist. Portraits and figures are by far my favorite subjects. In my off season I make a secondary income as a landscape painter. I love trompe l'oeil, portraiture and landscape painting. I also enjoy painting animals.
