How much does it cost?

Our service is free. However, to determine an exact cost of your job, you will need to meet with each muralist and give them exact details on the type of mural, the location, and desired style (i.e. realistic, impressionistic) that you are looking for. We ask that all users do their own due diligence before meeting with any muralist to ensure that the right questions are asked before proceeding with them.

How do you find your muralists?

Elizabeth Sadoff, principal of FAM, who has been in the mural painting/special finishes business for over 25 years, searches mural painters by word of mouth, through art suppliers, special listings of artists including city and county arts commissions, and slide registries.

Do you insure their work?

We do not insure artists' work, however we recommend to all our artists that they carry their own liability insurance coverage. As part of our screening process, we will be able to recommend only artists who have coverage, if that is a requirement for you.

Can I choose the muralists I want to work with?

Yes, you can browse our muralist directory and locate the artists that you want to contact. We will provide you with the muralist contact information and we also forward your information on to the muralist so he/she can contact you.

How will I be sure that I know what questions to ask the muralist?

We strongly urge our clients to do their own due dilligence, which will provide you with questions to ask in your interview with a muralist.

How do muralists charge for their work?

There are no standard formats for charging, some mural painters charge by the square foot, others by time and materials, others in a straight bid. Whatever method is used, it is imperative that you are prepared to supply the muralist with specific details of what you want in your mural, and how you want it to look (photo-realistic, graphic, impressionistic…) If you find it difficult to specify what you want, a muralist may charge for an initial design fee with a price range for the subsequent mural, so you can both work together to come up with the desired look

How informed will the client be before I contact them?

When a client submits a request to find a muralist, we call them and discuss their project and gauge their seriousness. In addition, we give them insight on what is entailed in mural painting projects.

How do I get started?

Simply fill out our muralist request form. You can contact us if you have questions about getting set up.

How many leads do you send me?

This varies depending upon the demand in your location and what are the prospective client's needs. We do our best to divide our leads evenly to each of our muralists.

How do you advertise and get me leads?

We will guarantee top placement on a google search and are linked to hundreds of local keywords used by prospective clients searching for a muralist. We will be distributing brochures with arts commissions, art suppliers, children’s furniture stores and other related arenas.

For instance, let's say you are a muralist in Miami, Florida and you just joined the network. We will then update our search engine listings so if a prospective client types in “muralist in Miami Florida” or “florida muralist”, we be advertising and linking to your portfolio pages directly from each search engine. This guarantees maximum exposure for our clients.

FindaMuralist.com was conceived and incorporated in July 2005. Our staff is comprised of over 25 years of experience creating murals.

How do I know your clients are really in need of a muralist?

All clients are personally contacted to clarify and confirm their project. Each will be apprised of what is entailed, including what things they should expect to cover in their budget (to-scale, color rendering for initial approval, for example).

Who is my competition for these referrals?

We set up this website for individual artists or small mural businesses who cannot afford their own representative or extensive advertising. Competition will be based upon a variety of situations: the location of the clients and how far you are willing to travel to execute a commission, if the client has made specific requests regarding style of mural they request, or has made a determination on the basis of reviewing our portfolio pages.
