Ratings/Reviews: | Taylor's Room
By: Lana (Svetlana) Wilken of Creative Rooms OrlandoStyle: Children's Murals
Taylor wanted a window with her puppy looking in. Her room was stark white when we started. I initially painted the base coat with two shades of pink, glazed and sponged off for a soft faux finish. She wanted some pastel drama to the base which was fine as her room is large and has 10 foot ceilings. She also wanted to feel like she was in her private little cottage and the world was peeking in. We painted her name over her vanity and hung ribbons off the letters that tied on to matching clothes pins for her hang pictures, programs, awards, and anything else she wants to display from them. Many elements of the room were created simply to get a curb on the clutter and multitude of paper, ribbons, purses, stuffed animals and souvenirs. With handmade bulletin boards, hooks, unusual shelves (the four square cd cases in the photo were hung to display four signed balls she had that didnt "fit" into the room otherwise), and a little furniture re-arranging, we were able to get it under control. The entire room was done "her way" with lots of pastels, stipes and circles, and a handpainted side table to match!
