By: Amber Dawn of Amber Dawn CreationsStyle:
This Trompe l’Oeil window was placed in an employee break room that had no windows. It was designed to look over the 18th hole, the famous “Golden Bell” Private Golf Course. This version of the final hole, is a reproduction of another piece of artwork, painted in flat acrylic paint, and coated with a polyurethane varnish so it was protected and could be cleaned. The window was than outlined with real moulding to make the final effect a true trick of the eye.
The fountain was restored from a horribly deteriorating plaster, with no waterproof coating, to a old "looking" faux texture covered in mold and dirt. The fountain in painted in flat outdoor acrylic paint, and is coated with a pool sealed paint to hold the water and reflect a pretty lit color.
The Sign above it was originally designed and created custom for these chiropractors, meant to look like a piece of old cracked stone. We used wood, routed out the font letters, and coated and sprayed on texture to create a lumpy stone like texture. 3 dimensional cracks are engraved into the sign, as well as a few chips, to make it look worn. It is than coated with exterior, flat acrylic paint to match the fountain.
this project took 35 hours project time to completion.
