Butterfly Bathroom

Style: Faux Finish Murals

This Bathroom wall was created to make both parents of a little girl happy. Mom wanted butterflies, and dad wanted a faux finish. We met in the middle and created a light blue ceiling with soft clouds above the crown moulding, the walls are fauxed to look old, dirty and cracked. A circular, brick lined window shows a view outside the walls, and allows the butter flies to roam freely through the room. Ivy overgrowth hangs in through cracks and hangs off mirrors. A reflection of light from the mirrors makes the shadow behind the butterflies look 3 dimensional. This whole bathroom, including a small room surrounding the tub and toilet took 40 hours of painting time, and was completed in interior acrylic latex eggshell paint to protect from the moisture exposed to the walls from a bathtub.
