This mural was painted in Kim Basinger's nursery with water color washes and impressionistic images using the lyrics from the Beatles' song "Lucy In The Sky With Diamonds".
It was a special treat to work directly with this client. She knew what she wanted and rather have me do a rendering , as I usually do, she sang the lyrics to "Lucy In The Sky With Diamonds" and I scribbled little notes on the wall as we walked around the room. Several days later she came in to check it out and after uttering "Oh, Oh, Oh, .....I just love it!" I knew we had connected. AFTER THE FACT.....Kim showed off her new nursery on the Oprah Show and this really was a huge boost to our careers! Put us on the map !
Kim and Alec invited my wife and I to come back to their home and meet their new baby daughter, Ireland Elyse. A great experience!
