The expensive floor medallion's strong yellow and red wood insets did not fit what the designer had in mind. Attempts by 2 floor finishers to tone down the colors by staining and dark tinting did not work at all, so they finally got me to paint away all that yellow and red, harmonize my silver grays with the textured silver faux I put on the walls earlier, and add a touch of blue to expand the interior palette and bring in a blue tone significant to the Gustavian age of the family's Swedish heritage.
