Turning Concrete to Marble, handpainted faux stone

By: John Enright  of  Arctura Murals & Fine Art

Style: Concrete Art

Our client wanted something unique on their showroom floor. Not the typical carpet. Not a wood laminate. We came up with the idea to sand the existing concrete floor and paint a trompe l' oeil marble inlaid medallion. Complete with cracks and chips. Added a soft antique patina over the top, then painted a scumble faux from the perimeter of the medallion to the floor edges. Three clear coatings of Acrylic were then rolled onto the entire surface to protect from foot traffic and add a high gloss sheen. Some people thought it was real marble. Client was happy.
