Murals intended for children are more often large scale paintings of fantasy worlds. They can replicate characters from a child's favorite book or animated character, placed in a scene that is specific to that child's room. The murals can cover an entire wall, a portion, as a border along the wall where it meets the ceiling, around a window or peeking out from behind a door as a surprise. Many times a ceiling of clouds can create a dreamy effect for the child's room. It is common to paint the furniture as well. Most often, the child's mural will not be precisely realistic, but come from the artist's imagination.
