DecoFX can provide a wide range of services including basic to highly advanced murals and simple to intricately detailed faux finishes on a diverse selection of surfaces including walls, mantles, columns, objects and furniture. Our muraling specialties include – but are not limited to: whimsical fantasy and comic themes for children’s areas – jungle, wildlife, tropical and ethnic subject matter or renditions of mythical, historical or entertainment figures, icons and period scenery.
DecoFX is a amazingly gifted Mother and son team with many years of experience and talent that goes far beyond what their training has provided for them. With the ability to envision an entire project, no matter it’s size or scope, Julie and Patrick know what the project will look like before the first brush stroke and they know just what to do every step of the way to achieve that goal. While they usually work together on medium to large-scale endeavors, they will occasionally work alone on a project whether it’s due to space limitations or subject matter. They have completed many murals and faux finishing projects in private residences, Commercial installations and public areas.
My Education:
Julie has been painting for many years and has studied Decorative Arts intensely for the past few years. She has completed many hours of extensive Art Study under leading Masters in Europe and the USA including many classes taught by Brenda Stewart, one of the Decorative Painting hobby’s finest and most sought-after instructors.
Patrick has been in Advanced Art classes since Middle School and is a regionally famous artist with award-winning original works on display in the Virginia Museum of Fine Art. His specialty is giving his subject matter unsurpassed realism and fine detail.
