Customers often ask me what I will paint, and I usually tell them: ”The sky is the limit”! I really enjoy working with my clients in developing a very personal mural that reflects both their style and interests. I have painted in difficult places before and am willing to climb scaffolding if necessary. Other times, I have worked to design a large canvas painting for tough areas. This is a good answer to the client who in interested in an “investment” they can move easily or relocate to another area.
My policy is never say “no”, to any project unless I am asked to copy another artist’s work or photograph. I usually combine many resources to design a piece that is unique and enjoyable. This business philosophy has allowed me the opportunity to work on many surfaces: surfaces like glass (a store front window), wood (for a removable painting in a trade show), brick, fabric, furniture, canvas, paper, and of course walls. Professionalism and integrity are most important to me. I will present clients with preliminary sketches and written proposals before any job has begun to assure customer satisfaction.
I would say that I am a passionate realist with an impressionistic angle to my work. I will use many different methods from throwing, blowing, and pouring, to stamping with organic and manmade materials, and incorporating metallic. My hope is to create art that elicits an emotional response not just an image that is photo-realistic.

My Mural Painting Styles:
My Biography:
My passion for art started as far back as I can remember! I took several classes while in school and always hoped to teach art to kids. With the growing number of teachers losing their jobs at the time, I realized I needed a degree in something else to get started in education and so I studied English. Unfortunately, teachers were not being hired so I continued with my career in fashion, design and management. I started managing a fabric design company called, Daisy Kingdom, and soon realized that having small children of my own and running a big store were too much. Art became the answer for me!
It was my great fortune to find myself painting for a living 10 years ago while balancing babies and work. I started painting watercolors for Sunshine Gallery, and when I sold all but one painting – I knew this was the right thing for me! I soon held a private showing with an artist friend. Then, I was asked to paint a mural for a child’s room. Ready to take on this challenge, I painted my first mural and soon find myself getting more referrals. Business really started picking up when I got connected with two different interior designers who landed me several commercial jobs. I also started creating commissioned acrylic and watercolor paintings. Over the last four years, I have also been teaching art at the public school my children attend.
Although I have had several art classes in high school and college and recently began taking watercolor classes from a local artist, Melissa Gannon, I am self-taught for the most part. Any free time I have is spent pouring over books and magazines that have helped fuel my passion for art. Contemporary artists like Nita Engels, Roy Roycraft, and Tom Lynch have inspired me as well as the well-known ones like Vermeer, Renoir, and Monet. I used to think that being self-taught was a detriment, but I have since decided that the love and passion I have for this field has moved me forward and taught me more than any class could. I always tell people: “This is the best job I have ever had!”
