My Biography:

Tom Taylor was born in South Bend, Indiana and grew up with a strong passion for two things in life: art and baseball. His pursuit of a Major League baseball career enabled him to represent our country in the Europe World Port Games where Team USA won the gold medal. He was especially proud of his acceptance to Florida Southern College, an institution that is frequently listed among the top 10 schools for baseball and the arts. He felt that it was a fantastic opportunity to attend an institution where he could hone the skills necessary for both a career in baseball and in art. While earning his art degree, he spent the summers working at the Pentagon as a graphic designer for the Air Force where he received an award for outstanding service for the USAF.
After attaining All-American honors in high school and All-Conference honors in college, Tom spent the last year of his baseball career playing for the Elmira Pioneers in the Independent Northern League of Professional Baseball. Following several injuries, he felt it was time to hang up the cleats and move on to his career in art.

Tom started his business, "Wow Effects," in 1999 and has since been painting murals, oil paintings, Trompe L'Oeil, and decorative finishes in homes all throughout the country. "The people who I have met through my business have been so friendly, and I have been blessed to know them and collaborate with them while doing artwork in their homes," he comments. "Now that I have two children of my own, I can relate to the joy that my artwork brings to families and their children."

The Wow Effect is what Tom continually strives for when transforming living spaces into eye-catching, memorable environments. Whether it be murals, oil paintings, Trompe L'Oeil, or decorative finishes, he can give your home the inspired character to make your space one of a kind. What can Tom paint for you?
