My Biography:

I was born and raised in Boston, Massachusetts, and consider myself lucky to have been saturated in a rich artistic environment, from the start. My father, an active Bostonian artist and muralist, cultivated my skill at a young age. From his example, I saw how to manipulate various forms of art in a wide spectrum of circumstances, and quickly started exploring art on my own terms. Almost as soon as I could hold a paintbrush, art became my most favored mode of expression, conveying my moods, fantasies, and social perceptions.

Art remained central to my identity and expression through my young adult life, and led me to pursue more formal studies at the University of Massachusetts, Boston. There, I focused on the notion of art as an extension of self, expression of emotion, and mode of social commentary. I enjoyed this opportunity to refine my skills and test the boundaries of convention, subject, and medium. In painting, I tested the boundaries of color theory and emotion, with sculpture I made interactive social commentaries, in printmaking, I coined and refined a new method of forming frescoes, and in digital art I explored Photoshop’s layering capacities. My artwork won acclaim in studios on and off campus, and professors asked me to guest lecture to share my methods.

In Boston, I also enjoyed the good fortune of working at Boston Museum of Fine Art during the Picasso Exhibit. The opportunity to study and conduct museum restoration work, was priceless to my education as an artist. I also enjoyed educating the public about my knowledge as a guide to this exhibit.

In addition to working at the Museumof Fine Art, I alos grew artistically from working at a marketing communications company on Newbury Street. I transferred his artistic techniques into "real world" applications by working as a graphic artist, art director, producer, and programmer to produce marketing products for worldwide corporations. I became adept at transforming my client’s messages and needs into captivating and motivating visual presentations.

In 2004, I became a proud father to my daughter, Chloe Isabelle. Like my father before me, I love introducing my child to the wonders of art, demonstrating how to manipulate its many forms and opportunities for delight. As a parent, notions of identity have become especially meaningful for me to explore and reflect, to pass on my understanding and experiences to Chloe. My personal artwork reflects this “exploration of identity” with extremely tactile formats.

Professionally, I have turned back to my roots in “studio” art and devoted myself primarily to working in unconventional spaces and large-scale dimensions, creating murals like those I witnessed in my earliest childhood memories. The moods I create are as varied as my clients - from the playful animals of a children’s room, the sweet wonder of nursery rhymes, the inviting world of media research, the intrigue of “Harry Potter,” to realistic portraits of tribute, I customize my work to reflect my clients‘ unique needs.

Who can benefit from my custom art? Everyone, large and small -- artwork touches everyone! As such, I tailor my work to meet both corporate and personal needs. I am currently settled in the DC Metro area, where I commission myself out as a studio artist and muralist.
