my work is photographic...I begin with my camera, using it much as others might use their brushes...my palette consists of a computer and software...together these tools allow me to create the compositions found here...
since what I do is photographic, I can incorporate a variety of images otherwise unavailable into my compositions...this could mean going out to photograph new images, using images I've already shot, using images you have or all of the above...(hint: a perfect excuse to dust off that old family album and incorporate your photos into something unique for that special wall)...
my subject matter is diverse...from trees to flowers; factory engineered parts to hot dogs; old world maps to route 66...I do have a special fondness for hoping in the car and wandering a road less traveled, as such, you will encounter a number of route 66 inspired pieces in my portfolio...
from camera to computer to canvas is how I describe my process...creating multi-panel non-linear compositions as well as more traditional styled murals on canvas, wallpaper, ceramic tile and other durable materials...
I sold my first artwork at six; a pencil drawing of two cats sleeping...at nine I won my first ribbon; a pen and ink study of trees...throughout my school years I was involved in all manners of art...school newspapers, yearbook editor, posters for school events, program covers, homecoming graphics, you name it...
in 1979 I started my commercial design studio, creating marketing materials for companies of all sizes...
by 1994 I was being drawn back into fine art, this time incorporating the tools from my commercial experience...and, as always happens, one thing leads to another and pretty soon I am not only creating marketing materials for my clients, but am also creating fine works of art for their walls...
by 1998 I am doing more fine art than commercial...today I am fully committed to creating the type of works you see here...
