As Nest Design, Emiliano Campobello and Mary Johnson create fine art murals that are harmonious and inspiring. We approach the wall or ceiling surface as a portal of space to be sculpted and redefined with the stroke of our paintbrushes. Our work can incorporate architectural illusion, trompe l'oeil, portraiture, the whimsical, and realistic details combined with semi-impressionistic landscapes. We have a special passion for projects that have a positive impact children's spaces. Each project is uniquely designed for the particular space or person, and our projects are thematically as varied as our clientele.

There are several diciplines that combine and contribute to our work.
Emiliano has followed the path of the Artist since his earliest days. Starting as an illustrator with a passion for fantasy and mythology, he moved on and studied sculpture at UCSB and the Academy of Fine Arts in Venice, Italy. Mary's artistic talent has always been apparent, and her first degree was in Interior Design. She then moved to Europe where she worked as a designer, painted, wrote, studied psychology and mentored and counseled high-school children for 10 years.
In Europe, Emiliano developed into a professional muralist and decorative designer, and there he and Mary joined forces and formed Nest Design. They worked alongside several European master painters and enhanced their craft with the tradition of classical methods. We are partners in our lives and our work. It is fascinating for two brushstrokes to flow in harmony to create one vision, composing works to resonate with and enchant the viewer. We combine our mutual talents, strengths, intuitions, and dedication to artistic excellence to share our gifts with our clients and with the world.
